Mukambi Upgrade and Revamp |
|
Over the rainy season we at Mukambi have been putting in a number of upgrades all over the lodge, from a revamp of our chalets to a complete remodelling of the main area and bar. Poor Basil the Hippo doesn’t know what to do with himself, he looks lost!
In the main area we have taken down the glass patio doors and opened up the whole bar area to the world (and the Warthogs)! The new open plan feel of the lodge has been aided with some fantastic large canvas pictures of the Park, notably an exceptional Cheetah picture shot from the Busanga Plains’, which we have placed above our open plan fireplace. Unique, individually made Indian day chairs with homemade cushions and pillows make for the most comfortable spot for a bit of relaxation. Oh and the bar is not far away either…
Other notable changes include refurbishing of our boats for fishing and cruising and the upgrade of our game drive vehicles. Landscaping of our surrounding area with the planting of a number of local indigenous and rare tree species! Plus very importantly our kitchen cuisine has, and continues to go from strength to strength. David our Head Chef has recently returned from an intensive course at the world renowned Boma Restaurant in Victoria Falls, his creative brain was challenged and the multitude of ideas he gained and skills he learnt have been invaluable, and the quality of the food at Mukambi is quite a thing to behold!
