First rains and good game

The first rains have arrived. The park is transformed into a lush green garden’. Puddles are filling  to the great delight of our warthogs.

Leopard and lion are quite active around the lodge. We found a big male leopard sitting in our workshop area around diner time and a few days later, two lionesses drinking from the pond in the ’backyard’ of our managers Jacque and Linda’s house.

Some of the latest sitings:

• On the other side of the river, in the park, the group of five cheetah brothers is still together, while their mother is raising two sub adult cubs near the old quarry near Hook Bridge.
• A pride of 6 Lions directly opposite camp, hunting Puku in daylight.
• Leopard stalking puku just before the pontoon road.
