We had 2 days respite from camping at the end of Easter, and it was great to sleep in a bed, have meals prepared, and have the fantastic outlook over the Kafue River.

This is how safari was meant to be. Vast space, close to the game, and afterwards, a tremendous stay at the small but beautiful Mukambi lodge on the banks of the Kafue river.

I have only praise for this gorgeous lodge. When we arrived at the lodge we were had the pleasure of meeting Basil the local hippo who occasionally wanders into the resort. The food was fantastic and the breakfast was an absolute treat.

We had meals in the restaurant, perfect! And...Basil, house hippo, was worth it alone!

Mukambi was easy to come from Lusaka, since a main road was just a short drive away.The main building was very nice with a huge terrace facing the mighty Kafue river. The staff was friendly in every way.
