Botson Junior, the son of the Mukambi Chef, Boston Senior, studied through the Mukambi Community School as a child, going on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Education for Mathematics from the University of Zambia on the 24th May 2023.

Mukambi owner, Robyn van der Heide, and Botsons’ proud family were there to watch the grand 52nd Graduation Ceremony at the University, which opened with a marching band and welcomed many honorable guests and speakers.

Botson attended Mukambi Community School for Grades 4 & 5, moving on to Kamakechi Primary where he got the top marks in Grade 7. He then moved on to Kasempa Boys Boarding for 2 years and completed his high school at Mumbwa Boarding School. Botson continued to work hard and strive for top marks, he finished his schooling with high points and was awarded a sponsorship from the Zambian Government to attend university.

The Cikoko Charity trustees are committed to the continued support of the Mukambi Community School and funding was expanded to include the financial support of ambitious ex-pupils who are keen to further their education by attending University. The Cikoko Charity funded Botsons’ living expenses and the additional costs of going to University. This graduation is an inspiration to other children from the Mukambi Community School. It is a story of a community coming together to support each other. It is a story of hard work and determination!  We proudly congratulate Botson Junior on his achievements!
